This conference was the 10th European Creative Industries Summit

was organised and broadcasted live from Berlin. The ECBNetwork was invited to organise this year’s #ECIS2020 for the German Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The third time in a row the #ECIS2020 gathered experts, intermediaries, politicians and professionals to exchange ideas and discuss the latest developments and especially the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the European Creative Economy. This time however, everything was different. No huge, crowded gatherings and large panel discussions were possible. Instead, we aimed for a digital event with new possibilities and chances for participation.

About the online conference

This new digital format also guaranteed the participation of new audiences and led to the direct attendance of over 1,700 people in one or the other event within the framework of the #ECIS2020. This time participants from over 20 different countries gathered with the background of political decision-makers, administration, cultural workers, creative hubs, researchers, educators and, above all, mediators and innovators from all areas of the cultural and creative industries. All five breakout sessions was held during the course of five weeks and the final conference day was live streamed from Berlin on the 28th of October.
