Poligon

Founded in 2012, as a private non-governmental organization, Poligon institute for development of creative industries is one of the leading Slovenian institutes focusing on the development of the creative industries.

Over the past 4 years, Poligon has successfully introduced and popularized coworking and crowdfunding, both nationally and regionally, as innovative concepts that empower independent professionals working in the creative industries, social entrepreneurship, and the field of culture. In February 2014, the Poligon Creative Centre was established in Ljubljana as the first Slovenian creative center,  with over 100 workspaces, several event spaces, as well as a gallery and maker lab. Within the first two years, Poligon hosted and organized over 300 events, workshops, lectures, meetups and conferences that were attended by over 25.000 visitors. Topics of research conducted by Poligon, include several papers on the development, and potential benefits creative hubs and coworking spaces can have for various policy makers, such as the Slovenian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development Agency and  the Municipality of Ljubljana.
