Project Description

Business Metropole Ruhr GmbH (BMR) develops and markets the Ruhr Metropolis as a business location. It bundles the economic interests of the 53 municipalities in the region. The aim of BMR’s work is to increase the competitiveness of the Ruhr region. This includes implementing and continuously developing an overall economic strategy for the Ruhr Metropolis and promoting the image of the business location as a high-performance and innovative region both nationally and internationally.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Ruhr Regional Association (RVR), BMR is committed to the municipalities of the region as a partner.

It works in five fields of action:
– internationalisation and location marketing,
– land and investor services,
– project development in the lead markets,
– subsidy consulting and innovation
– and structural policy issues.

BMR has set itself the task of sustainably promoting the cultural and creative industries in the Ruhr Metropolis. The creative industries have proven to be particularly effective as a driver of innovation at the interface with other economic sectors. The BMR supports the creative scene with offers for cross-sectoral networking.
