What is ArtLab?

ArtLab is the Italian independent platform dedicated to innovating practices and policies in arts and culture through structured dialogues amongst the key stakeholders of the cultural and creative ecosystem, in an international perspective.

Initiated in 2006 by Fondazione Fitzcarraldo, the over 40 partnerships which include Italian and European networks, national cultural institutes, municipalities/regional authorities and agencies, businesses, foundations, cultural and creative umbrella organizations and universities, contribute to the sustainability, programming and dissemination of the outcomes.

2019’s edition of ArtLab foresees two main events: Milan (June 27-28) and Bari-Matera (October 24- 26), and three laboratories in Treia, Mantova (Italy) and Helsinki (Finland). These are set-up together with local partners within cultural manifestations deeply rooted and focused on the territory. The laboratory in Helsinki will contribute to the international debate on the Cultural and Creative Industries.
